Today I learned that generational trauma is inherited in utero, mostly from our mothers. Which means, for the duration of 2000 years of patriarchy, every man woman and child is born fucked up by the trauma we societally put our women through, such as forced pregnancies, rape, poverty from pay gaps, domestic abuse, religion-based traumas such as shame about natural bodily functions or forced genital mutilation, risky medical procedures to spare men the trouble of reversible vasectomies, street harassment, systematic repression in the government or the workplace, unpaid labor, inequality, etc etc etc........ These are all hate crimes against women.
In the Iron Age and earlier, many women lived in temples, and even raised their children there together with other women, and because it was more matriarchal, women weren't dependent upon men for money to feed their children with. I'll assume this arrangement provided a much less stressful experience for women in which to create the next generations, so boys and girls didn't inherit 2000 years of patriarchal trauma to the extent that happens today. This explains why it seems like basically everyone has some form of mental illness in modern patriarchal society.
Can we just put that in humanity's suggestion box?
