I'm living better, partying more, and having more fun in my very early thirties than I did in my twenties. Basically society and my own expectations of what it would be like to be this age were completely wrong. Twenties are comparatively drab and awkward. Although I think this has a lot to do with who one surrounds oneself with. I run with badasses -- of all ages. And maturity has made us more free and open, with an urgency for adventures every weekend, each more wild than the weekend previous. Oh if my grandmother only knew.
A funny thing happened at a bar where I was hanging with my guy friend. He's almost in his mid twenties, and I joked that he still hadn't grown, or something like that. "How old are you now?" he said. I told him, and he said "That's okay!"
LOL. I was like 'I wasn't apologizing for MY age. IT'S YOUR AGE I WAS LAUGHING AT BRO.' Pffffhahahaha. Whippersnappers.
And of course he was all touchy feely since he is newly single. But that's another matter... (Why do the younger men like me so much more now than they did when I was their age??)
The point is, I'm glad I made it to this age, because it is lovely here and the grass is greener, so if you're reading this and you are younger than me, don't be afraid to age because you won't have to change or wear khakis or have a picket fence. Enjoy the journey of time because you have glorious days ahead of you and many adventures to be had for as long as you would like! 'Cause I don't know about you, but I plan to keep ballin' past eighty.
