I like myself because:
1. I believe I brought light to a couple people's lives this summer, and that makes me really happy. I didn't conquer the world, I didn't find "true love", and I didn't bring light to all humanity, but I know my positive energy, enthusiasm, and non-judgmental sense of adventure did have an effect on a couple of my closer friends, profoundly enough that their old friends noticed they seem happier now. My friend even told me so. What a terribly nice thing to say.
2. My sense of adventure. For the sake of a memorable day, I will go right ahead and make a fool of myself, or take a small risk, or even do things some might view as scandalous, but all in good fun. It makes me feel free and one with the universe, and it adds a fun dynamic to any friend gathering, and makes them feel free to be themselves and enjoy the moment too.
3. I like myself because I like myself. I embrace bits of myself that I like, rather than try to pose as someone else. I could easily despise myself, but what good would that do anyone? I want everyone to love themselves, and I may as well start that wildfire of acceptance with myself.
