Today I'm grateful for the sane ones. For the friends who are finding solutions to sudden unemployment, or helping others. I'm so grateful that I'm in a relatively stable position, that unlike some I don't have to fear eviction or hunger, or death, probably.
I do have to worry about the wiley elderly folks who just refuse to stay home despite the pleas of their children and grandchildren, though. There's an elderly revolution out there of senile people who just REALLY want to get this virus it seems. At least my dad wears a mask when he goes out. It's better than nothing.
People have such a hard time just staying home. (First world problems?)
I made a ridiculous mask that is so fabulous. I plan to wear it to take myself on a solo date to nature soon. I hope it will make people smile. I want to see the city streets empty, to see what that looks like.
I saw my neighbor in an adjacent building staring out his window at 8 am the other day. I don't know if he saw me. I thought it was funny how we were doing the same thing, wistfully, curiously, gazing outside, as if looking for a news update in the empty streets. Everything is closed. It's never happened before. It fascinates me, but I have the privilege of saying that.
If you're reading this I hope you're not letting the epidemic of social media insanity get to you. I hope you're using your time wisely and creatively and getting things done and resting and laughing at memes. I hope you are healthy and doing well.
