I had a weird dream that I was strolling along a country road with an acquaintance watching horseback riders, when suddenly a dog was injured and everyone rushed to resuscitate the dog (who died) while simultaneously the dog owner went lifeless and unnoticed by the people trying to save the dog. The woman was laying on the ground and had stopped breathing. "Uh, there's a WOMAN down over here," I said but they didn't hear me. She appeared to be dead. I lifted her wrist to find a pulse and felt nothing -- but then I felt a STRONG sudden surge in her arm -- in one powerful jolt, the force of her blood pumped from her heart to her wrist and she sat up with opened eyes. It was amazing, mysterious, to feel the power of life force in her. Where did it come from? I wondered.
Then I woke up.
I think the woman in the dream represents me being devastated by the fallen dog who represents loved ones, no one helping me, and then me helping myself, holding my own hand until I am revived, and then surprised at my inner strength and recovery, in wonder at life and the mysterious power of my blood, the soul, all that lives. Interesting that I didn't dwell over the dead dog. Looks like a metaphor about focusing on what CAN be saved.
