One last thought before I reply to all these texts on my phone..
A metaphor on my body:
A year ago I developed a weird mole on my back from sun or a tick bite, I'm not sure which. It didn't cause me trouble so I ignored it all year. But in the last few weeks it became suddenly irritated, scabbing over, I wasn't sure why. It increasingly caused pain. I worried it could be cancer or something.
Today, I checked in the mirror. An entire year later, the entire thing had suddenly scabbed over and only a thread held the offensive scab in place. I peeled it off, revealing clean soft skin where the weird mark used to be. I shed the entire thing. No more worry about the mark I carried on my back. It was only scabbing over, healing slowly, the pain was a part of the process, and now the mark and the pain are over.
