It would be swell to go back to family road trip to Arizona circa late 1980s - early 1990s. My mom is behind the wheel. It's 9 am and already like 99 degrees. My mom is driving about as fast as the temperature. Every window is rolled down, blasting me in the backseat. Music turned up loud to annoy my square dad. While driving very illegal speeds with a child in the back, she rips her shirt off and puts on a tank top, endangering us all. I miss her. The saguaro cacti and mesas were cool too.
Funny we saw the Grand Canyon as a family. A fine metaphor. Ha ha. Still, it really was grand. My mom was an excellent tour guide. Maybe that's why I liked traveling so much. It was the best family vacation ever.
