When I started practice today I had some chronic pain, but after playing awhile I noticed my pain was gone. I later learned that music reduces pain by activating sensory pathways that compete with pain pathways, stimulating emotional responses and engaging cognitive attention, providing intellectual and emotional engagement to physically reduce pain.
Music really is the best drug.
