Quick Gratitude List :
1. I'm grateful that I am rich in books. I own so many books that even though an ex made off with a few, I still have tons, and men have gifted me more so I'm basically running a library. I revisit old ones sometimes and periodically order more from thriftbooks dot com. I especially love hardbacks just because they're beautiful on my shelves. I have books in my bathroom and two big bookcases, and a whole bunch more hidden away behind cupboards and other odd places. Anywhere I can fit 'em. They also help absorb noise, which is nice when one resides in a very loud urban neighborhood.
2. I'm grateful that in this moment, nothing bad is happening. At least as far as I know, loved ones have stayed alive today, no one fell ill today, and I haven't received any other sort of bad news today. It's a quiet and non eventful sunday, just the way I like it.
3. Rain. Rain is beautiful. We need it. We're getting a lot of it. Water droplets are pretty on my windows. Rain cleans all the dirty streets and waters all the plants so that come spring we'll be knee deep in wildflowers and green grass.
4. Delicious foods, and especially the variety of sauces and spices occupying my home. I've been trying lots of new flavors because I get bored of food easily so I have to market food to myself by making it seem new and exciting and a beautiful experience that activates all the senses at once.
5. My pets who get super excited over little things like carrots. I like plopping the little ones on my lap and hand feeding them and watching them jump for joy. When my babies are happy, I'm happy.
