After a brief spell of staying up late and sleeping in, I find I much prefer waking up early while the world is still quiet. It's better for my mood to have a few quiet hours to myself before starting the day. Grandma had it right.
I started taking liquid vitamin d (for better absorption), royal jelly a couple times a day, and more greens. Been feeling calm, so something's working. Could also be because I'm talking less to people.
I have nature themed playlists built into my routine. Soft ambient birds and streams for mornings. Crickets and frogs at night. Sometimes falling snow or damp caves with underground waterfalls. Sometimes an enchanted forest fantasy inspired blend of harps and chimes blended with nature sounds sets the mood. Creating a magical ambiance is my favorite thing. It's amazing in surround sound. The vibe I'm going for is 'treehouse in an enchanted forest.' I really ran with it.
We have a lot of power to create our own reality. As someone with sensory sensitivities, it makes sense that intentionally creating a soothing environment is powerful medicine. It does require a bit of imagination.
For my next trick, I'll replace lights under my cabinet with grow lights for herbs. It'll be convenient to have an unlimited supply of organic produce on my counter, and fewer grocery trips!
Maybe someday I'll even be crazy enough to get an apartment chicken, for daily fresh eggs. I met a circus lady who did that. Just need some uv lamps to supplement vitamin d. I suppose I could raise a quieter bird, like quail, and eat tiny eggs for breakfast! I totally would do something like that.
