I love Ram Dass but I also think if he was born a woman he'd just be somebody's supportive mom, sister, wife, girlfriend, friend... and he wouldn't be RAM DASS but just an average woman you see anywhere on any given day and no one would know her name or remember her except those who were close to her, because she might not have the bandwidth to be a public figure after offering an endless supply of unpaid wisdom to the people she loves and upholding the universe within her small circle with the strength of her whole heart, raising children and/or men her whole life like an underappreciated saint.
Not that she should stop giving, necessarily. But women really are expected to put everyone else first. Still. (I put myself in this position also.)
I really do like Ram Dass though.
I feel that the things that make men great and admiral are the qualities that we label "feminine" or just expect of women without reward. When men do incredible things, they're an exception. Women set the bar pretty high. When a man shows up as honorably as a woman, that impresses us, just like it impresses us when a monkey wears a hat and claps his hands like a human.
Wow that was harsh. It implies that I think monkeys are stupid, when they are not. Bear in mind my collection of man-related traumas, and the fact that I was kept awake all night because a man tried to set fire to my building which set off very very loud fire alarms (made by men I bet! lol.) and subsequently drank too much caffeine and then had weed after being a captive witness to the latest man making war for no reason. Please take anything I write with a grain of salt. Unless you're not offended, in which case I meant every word.
